This place is historic. What a privilege to stay in such a place which has been in the same family since before the french revolution. Do not expect a TV in your room. Do expect dated fixtures and fittings in an enormous stately bedroom suite. Breakfast will include produce grown on the estate made by the hand of Madame la Marquise who lives there full time. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Situated just outside the village on the banks of the Charente there are a few restaurants which are within walking distance (but make a reservation). Beautiful cottage really comfortable and clean the design is beautiful. Anne & Steph were fantastic hosts - very welcoming and provided lots of information on places to visits in the area. The village is also really nice. We hope to return in the future.
the house is very comfortabel and the design is fantastisc. the owner Anne is an artist and you can see her hands in the decoration. Anne and Steph weren’t there, but we were welcomed by friends of them: very warm and friendly. the village is very nice and charming. with fantastisch old houses and the river in which you can swim / kayak etc. We cycled around: easy flat cycling along castles and Abbeys.
