Gîte au cœur de la Brenne was warm, clean, and quiet when we stayed in June this year, and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Mézières-en-Brenne is an ideal centre to explore the Brenne, and has an excellent bakery, the mini-market in the square has fresh fruit and other groceries, there's a good cafe and a couple of restaurants, and a Thursday market. The gîte is about ten minutes walk down a quiet safe road to the centre. We'd happily stay at this friendly, if slightly quirky and very French cottage again! (There may be a bonus is if you arrive when Marine has been bottling fruit or baking!)
