Our host was very pleasant and gave us good advice about where to visit, restaurants and the area. The apartment is a former weavers' cottage with original features and some modernisation, with a beautiful view across the river Sarthe to Fresnay Castle. Due to some wet weather, we spent our first full day at Fresnay just relaxing at the apartment and preparing meals: the apartment is pleasant enough for time spent there to feel well-spent. Also its location is good for walking into the town, there is a footbridge nearby which allows fairly easy access (via streets which climb uphill) to the mediaeval town centre. In season, there is a swimming pool nearby at the local campsite. The local supermarket is an excellent Super-U.
