We were in the lovely traditional “blue” themed room with picturesque views.
Room & bathroom were comfortable and good wifi.
Breakfast was held in the exquisite dining room, all seated around a large table.. great for meeting people, if you can speak French. Our host was very attentive.

The house of Madame Colette and Monsieur Alain is wonderful! Everything is clean, comfortable, the placement is perfect, Lapalisse is a beautiful town. But! This is not all these advantages that made this place so unique. This are the hosts who make it absolutely a wonderful place. They are kind, helpful and open-hearted. Our car have broke down and we needed to find a shelter for one night and when we arrived at Collete Alain Maxime, I am pretty sure we looked like drowned rats. They did not only give us shelter, fed us, but also helped to find a mechanic. Honestly? I was feeling not like in a hotel with strangers, but like in a family. Madame Colette speaks English quite well too, so if don't know a word in French and you are searching for a cozy place with wonderful staff - this is a place for you

Great location - very close to the centre and the Lake,with restaurants nearby, but very quiet, opposite a park, and with good on street parking. Walking distance to boulangerie. Characterful property, well modernised internally. Hosts were welcoming and there were Madeleines, fresh juice, and various teas and coffee waiting for us.
Beautiful spot in the village. A welcome dip in the pool with a glass of wine in the garden later was the perfect end to full on driving day. Secure parking. Delicious breakfast. Host was very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend.
This is the kind of place you don't want to leave. The flat was quite large and comfortable and with all amenities we needed. Surroundings are absolutely fantastic. A landscape of rolling hills and small villages that France can do better than anywhere else. The place is magic in such way that you can sit outside for hours looking over the landscape and feel the time stands still. That is a sense of calm and serenity that is very hard to find anywhere. Add to this the very friendly hosts and you will want to stay forever.
