The place was fantastic, a real gem of a find in the heart of Brittany, close to some lovely little Brittany towns. The village itself had a great little supermarket. The photos do not really do justice to the place. The owner was just lovely and had clearly spent a lot of time thinking about the lovely little personal touches. She couldn't have done more for us, writing messages and using Google translate to communicate- it was great. A real home from home. The decor, oak beams, furniture , fire place and kitchen appliances all added to the lovely ambiance of the place. If you're looking for a place in Brittany away from the bigger more commercial areas then this is the place. We would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

The Gite is located in the old stable block behind the Chateau. It is one of 3 or 4 in the same building, all with their own entrance doors, we rarely saw the other guests and had our own outside space to eat in the fresh air in the evening. This location is very restful, and there is loads of outside space to wander around the chateau and enjoy the peace and tranquility. The children really enjoyed playing in the swimming pool each day and exploring in the forest that surrounds the chateau, and riding bicycles round the various roads and tracks of the chateau. The gite itself looked like it had only just been refurbished, everything was sparkling clean and worked well. Excellent water pressure in the nice big shower. I would estimate the local town is about 3km walk from the chateau, and there are a few bars and restaurant's there, probably best to bring a bicycle if you want to have an evening out. Within a radius of 30km, there are a few old towns and fortifications to look at, like Dinan and Josselin for day trips. We found it to be a good base for exploring the surrounding region. I'm sure some people would be able to find faults, but we were very happy with our stay, and our hosts were most welcoming. It did test my school boy French to the limit though :o)

Enough nice things cannot be said about this stop and our host. About an hour from Carnac and the ferries at St. Malo, what a great place to break up the trip. The quintessential French Country manor, we were greeted in the driveway by the Carline who deserves the Super-Host of ALL-TIME AWARD! The manor is everything you would expect it to be from the patterned tile baths, the ancient hardwoods fireplaces and wood beams. She has fields of flowers and walking paths through the gardens and farmland. Dining and shopping are only 10 minutes away in Josslyn. Rooms, beds and baths were all mega-comfortable. Setting was ultra quiet. Breakfast was to die for, fresh laid eggs, fresh baguettes, croissants, homemade jams and marmalade, fresh squeezed orange juice, it was beyond phenomenal. I want to go back again next year!

The true taste of Bretagna in such a wonderful place! The garden is absolutely stunning, the room is large, well equipped and absolutely clean. The breakfast is superbe - cake, brioches, crepes. Everything hand-made. The host could not be more friendly, and the entourage is very kids friendly. Strongly reccomended!
