Marithé was a wonderful host - very welcoming and kind. She suggested where I could get some food for the evening and provided a cool drink, plates and cutlery. She also provided somewhere secure for me to store my bicycle overnight.
The room was large and very comfortable and there was a nice bathroom. It was quiet and I slept well.
Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to eat. I met Marithé's husband in the morning and he was very friendly too.

We arrived on our gravel bikes, tired, wet and needing to repair a picture. Francoise helped us out in one of his barns and then invited us for tea and biscuits in their lounge, and we all brushed up our English and French. We had the room with a bath which was very welcome. Valerie set two places in her kitchen, and I had free run to cook the food we had brought with us for dinner.
In the morning we had croissants with preserves from the garden, and Valerie’s homemade yogurt with pear compote and cooked peaches again from the garden.
We loved being welcomed into this kind couples beautiful home, and left having made new friends.

Perfect location. This was an exemptional, chic house. One off of the best houses we have stayed in and we had full use of the pool. Annika brought us some peaches she'd grown in her garden. Certainly we would stay here again.

I have not stopped recommending the Château since my visit. It was in and of itself beautiful, with charming, historic decor. But on top of the château, you get to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region (with all the llamas, highland cows, goats, etc. near the property), and the lovely gardens maintained by the owners. Valerie and Laurent, thank you for a lovely weekend!
