Laura and Carlos were very friendly accommodating hosts. There was a beautiful night view of the Rosas coast and the full moon from the patio. The room was very comfortable and done in good taste. There was complete silence at night and we got a very good night's sleep. We ate an excellent breakfast outside in the yard with fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, bread, cheese, coffee, juice etc. We're sorry we only spent one night.

Casa Báscara is a home away from home! Expect the warmest welcome from the host Luc. You are very much left to your own devices and welcome to pop into the kitchen to grab a snack or croissant during the day, and of course there is a hearty spread prepared for breakfast. Wants eggs? Grab some from the counter and grab a frying pan! Want to heat up your oat milk? You're welcome to use the microwave in the kitchen. Luc provided lovely fresh, traditional local bread with cheese, ham, fruit, croissants and juice for breakfast. You're free to whip together a plate of whatever takes your fancy in typical local style.
Thankfully Luc is more than happy to share his story of the incredible building, which he fully renovated himself, building a spiral staircase down a well (!) which opens into a wine cellar (!). There's so much to learn and we wowed by at this renovated 14th century bishop's mansion and Luc's story of it. Luc is very kind and accommodating, it's almost like staying with a helpful friend who also doesn't get in your way. Our room was finished to a very high standard, and although the toilet is behind the shower and without a door, there are a few other toilets in the communal areas of the property you can use for privacy from your parter, so that wasn't a problem for us. Luc was also very flexible and accommodating with the check out time (which we were especially thankful for considering we were visiting for a wedding!)

We had the best stay here and enjoyed every minute. Jill and her husband were so welcoming and extremely kind. They went above and beyond for us, making sure we had a really good stay. The garden and the house is stunning. The breakfast was amazing, with fresh tea from the garden and eggs from their chickens. It was such good value for money. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would love to come back!! Thank you.

A very nice house in a picturesque setting. Peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings of Catalan villages and towns.
Spacious house, very well equipped. Great pool and garden area. The rooms are very nicely decorated. Very nice and very helpful owner. Despite the language barrier, there were no communication problems. She always offered help and advice on sightseeing and choosing a good restaurant. We highly recommend this house.
