Beautiful cabin. You can have complete privacy and feel surrounded by forest, but it's easy to reach and not far from all the main attractions of the area. Nice details, very nice and furnished kitchen. Easy communication with the owners before and during the stay.

Terrific reception and attention to all details by both Anja the manageress and Wendy the housekeeper. Kind, helpful & always very polite. The bungalow was a delight to live in for 4 days at the end of November 2023! We spent lovely days down on the coast, and up at the waterfalls. A delightfully restful and perfect part of our two week vacation. Highly recommended!!

Second of all it’s in an amazing location, beautiful views, quiet and so peaceful with nature surrounding you you really get the feel of being in Costa Rica

Definitely needs a 4x4 to get to the place however it’s recommended to rent a 4x4 in Costa Rica no matter where you go because of the roads.

We liked the location overlooking a palm plantation with forest on the hills, a pretty view with birds to spot in the morning and evening. Nice cabin, we enjoyed 2 nights there and would recommend. Clean with good facilities for cooking and a washing machine which was welcome and not usually found in rental properties. Some reviews mentioned the drive from the main road which I personally found to be fine, a decent graded road then a short stretch of tarmac and a short steeper path to the cabin, first gear and no problem in the rain.

David is a heartfelt host. Runs a brilliant house, nicest in Matapalo, the village being a calm place. His real tropical garden hosts a brilliant fauna. Room, bed, cleanliness spotless. Beach and shop both 5 mins on foot, Coco is approx the last house behind the oceanfront trees. Great breakfast. Safe parking. Good advices as per excursions.
The facility itself is fine. The gardens are lovely and the pool was okay (very shallow). The village and beach of Matapalo is beautiful, pristine, and full of wildlife!

Staff was super nice and kept us informed if there was something cool to see, such as monkeys, sloths,etc. Also very nice breakfast served outside each morning.
We felt very welcome at COCO beach Village. The owners are so kind and helpful! The room was big and very clean. AND THE LOCATION IS A HIDDEN GEM. Its perfect with the most beautiful sunsets! The area is nice, calm, safe and it’s a short walk to the amazing beach. When we’ll go to Costa Rica again we definitely will come back to this place!
David and his wife were great hosts for our stay with them. They were both on hand to help with any questions and anything we needed. the hotel is beautiful with large rooms with ac a rarity in Costa Rica, we loved the garden and was like a little garden of Eden where we had breakfast every day. Matapolo is a quiet seaside village away from the hustle and bustle with a beautiful beach which you feel like you have to yourself. We would definitely stay again.
