It is a beautiful property located walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The hosts/owners are wonderful and very caring people. They picked me up from the airport and offered to drop me back for my return flight. They have a kitchen area for cooking your own meals, if you want. You will feel very welcome here. I loved my stay at Te Ariki and wish I could have stayed longer.

If you want to stay a bit longer on Rapa Nui, there is no better place to feel the atmosphere of the island. The owner - Claudio - is a friendly guy who will not only accommodate you very well, but will help you arrange trips with the best guides and recommend local restaurants and bars. In the hostel you have a well-equipped kitchen, a terrace and, as a package, two adorable orange-white cats and friendly dogs who will want to go everywhere with you on walks. The biggest advantage of the hostel is its location - close to Tahai - the best place for sunsets on the island. The internet worked perfectly - which is a huge advantage and a rarity on this island. I wholeheartedly recommend a stay here and if I am lucky enough to return to Easter Island, I will definitely return to this hostel.

Benjamin and all of the administration were super helpful and caring, and with Easter Island being very expensive, they do have the cheapest prices for all the tours and things to do which was a huge plus. The rooms were clean and there were enough bathrooms/showers, and everyone was given their own set of utencils etc so you always knew you wouldn't have to wash someone elses things to be able to cook food. The athmosphere was lovely and the public spaces were comfortable as well. As a solo traveller this was a 10/10 place in every aspect - will definitely want to book my next trip to Rapa Nui already!

1. Our flight was delayed, but the host still come to pick us up on time with hostility. 2. How a Lovely cabin! There’s one queen size bed, one well-equipped kitchen and one bathroom. All we need is here. 3. Some small stores are nearby so that we can buy food, fruits, vegetables that everything we need. 20mins walking distance to the seaside, it’s ok because you will pass a church and some art stores. Quiet and safe. Easy to check in/ out. 5. Very nice and patient host as well as his family. They do the laundry for us everyday. We got small gifts and bless from them;) We feels very like at home. It’s better than I expected!!

Everything! This is a lovely place to stay on Rapa Nui. You are a short stroll to the center of town, to the Ahu Tahai and the ocean. Carlos and Pamela are the most gracious hosts. They will make you feel welcome and can help arrange tours, etc. You really could not ask for better hosts. The rooms are very nice and super clean, and have a small fridge. . My bed was so comfortable. The shared kitchen is spacious and clean and well equipped. There is a living room to hang out in and a nice backyard. Hostal Makohe, in my opinion, is really a step up from the usual hostal.
