This is a fantastic location in Jambiani, right on the beach and in proximity to so many other things. The staff was very friendly and responsive, always available to help us with anything we needed. We also loved their excursions, particularly going out on the wooden sailboat and going snorkeling - what a wonderful find! And their sister site has the best wood fired pizzas - highly recommended!
Max was informative and gave recommendations for restaurants as well as booking a boat excursion to snorkel and swim with dolphins. Yahya was excellent with booking us transfers. Since we visited during rainy season the power often went out at night but was quickly restored. The included breakfast was varied and wonderful. We especially appreciated the free water to fill our bottles. The property is beautiful as well. Would definitely recommend Babalao!
The location is fantastic, being right on the beach front. There is a restaurant and most comforts like kettle.. pool towels. The staff organise tours.. the boat trip was free! Great
Beach and sunset was beautiful Lovely attentive staff Rooms were immaculate and had new technology AC Zakora on the boats was extremely knowledgable and friendly Marianne the restaurant manager was a great lady who helped me with my allergies! Thank you for my special chocolate cake!

Ambient, hidden from noise hotel with beautiful view. middle of February ocean was so warm - never could I,agine such a warm ocean. The furniture all around the property is mostly made of the wood taken from the boats - it is a great nature design solution. Same - recycling - wine bottles are re-made to water bottles- eco friendly solution. The restaurant with its food and breakfasts was just the best. Our room was very new - just built and with same boat furniture in it - always cleaned by housekeeping and nicely decorated. Thank you.
Liked how the hotel was kept historic looking. Service was excellent. Seafood served was fresh and delicious. I loved how the eating area was in a nice garden area removed from the noise and heat of the streets in Stonetown. Pool was refreshing. Nice quiet place about a half block from the sea and boat taxis to Prisoner island and other day trip islands. Taxi stand very close by for trips anywhere else on the island. Very historic hotel.
beautiful place to stay, I rest very well after long trips. very central and easy to walk around the town and taking the boat, great staffs and sweet rooms. i would love to go back and spend more time there.
The most cozy place on the island, amazingly quiet, you can hear only sounds of birds here and harassment of beach boys like in other part of the island! The best food for very affordable prices. As this was my second time, I can notice that rooms are even more improved. I spent one day on whole day boat trip which Aleks organized, corals were unique and amazing seafood served on sandbank! From now on, this is the only place where I will spend my time in Zanzibar.
