This accommodation was gorgeous and spacious. Our room had a lovely view. The futons were very comfortable and even though it was really cold outside, we were warm in our room. There was curry provided for dinner and it was lovely. We were lucky as the restaurants closed early there.

The property is a traditional Japanese house, typical of the Miyajima region. Beautifully preserved and with contemporary furniture that they managed to combine in an extraordinary way. The house is very small, so it has only one room, this makes you practically rented not a room, but the house complete with your own Japanese interior garden, its doors of Japanese paper, by the way very beautiful. They place incense, which gives it a very pleasant atmosphere. An extraordinary experience to rest in a Ryokan in a magical destination. Kousu Ke takes care of the property and was an extraordinary person, kind and very helpful. He solved a problem for me with the shipment of a package that he had lost at a destination prior to our arrival, and made sure I received it at my next destination. There cannot be a better host. The location is unbeatable, a couple of blocks from the main street. Walking to the bay took you through the little streets of traditional houses, and you could see the residents going about their daily lives.

Set 8.9 km from Miroku no Sato, 9 km from Jodoji Temple and 10 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, Guest house kusunoki（women only） provides accommodation situated in Fukuyama. Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

The guesthouse is right on the beach and a perfect stop while doing the Shimanamikaido bike trail The owner is very friendly and welcoming The tatami room with futons was very comfortable for our family of 4.

Roku Hostel Hiroshima, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Hiroshima, 2.5 km from Myoei-ji Temple, 2.6 km from Atomic Bomb Dome, as well as 2.9 km from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Lovely place in the suburbs, one of the highlights of my trip. Best social experience out of any hostel I booked. A little ways from the nearest station, but walkable. The hosts operate a small bar where, although the menu is small, guests can get one free drink per night.

Situated next to a rice field, 88 House Hiroshima is a non-smoking accommodation with free WiFi throughout the property. From JR Hiroshima Station, the property is a 25-minute bus ride away. The house is beautiful and very well equipped! Also the host was very kind and welcoming! We loved our stay there!

Set in Onomichi, 2.6 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine and 5 km from Saikon-ji Temple, しまの宿 Island Country Inn offers spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. We chose to stay here in advance of doing the Shimanami Kaido cycle from Onomichi, in order to get to Mukaishima, you will need to exit Onomichi station, cross over the footbridge and go onto the ferry which costs 100 yen per person. I would recommend calling ahead while you are waiting for the ferry to allow time for pickup. Yuji, Junko and Akana were extremely welcoming hosts providing door to door service and a lovely home cooked breakfast with actual proper bread!! for only 500 yen per person. For 2 people you have your own bedroom and living room. Well worth staying here especially if you want a more personal experience.

Shimanami Osayo no Yado - Vacation STAY 16166 is set in the Ikuchi Island district of Onomichi, 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, 28 km from Saikon-ji Temple and 31 km from Saikokuji Temple. The host was exceptional. Dinner and breakfast was included and both were traditional Japanese and delicious. Our host was so kind and drove us to the bike oasis where we hired our bikes. We absolutely loved the islands in the seto sea and it was wonderful to be staying on one of them and made to feel so welcome. The whole experience was a major highlight of our stay!

Set in Onomichi, 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, BONAPOOL offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. Location is great, it's right by the water. We actually were on our bicycles to get there and no problem locating the hotel. There's plenty of parking spaces in front of the hotel, if you come by car. Facilities are great. We stayed in shared dorm using shared bathroom which is no issue for us at all. Bunk bed is quite comfy and quiet at night. Bathroom is squeaky clean, very very clean! We love everything here and will definitely plan a trip to stay here again!
