Joe and Jackie were amazing hosts! They let us borrow two umbrellas and gave us a charger we were missing for my daughter’s headphones. They also helped make dinner reservations at Fallons Bar in nearby Shannonbridge and then confirmed a band playing in the Killen’s Pub next door to that so we got an authentic Irish experience! We stayed here because it’s halfway between the Cliffs of Moher and Dublin. We did Dublin one day and the Cliffs another. Worked perfect for us. And we even visited Clonmacnoise that is right next door which was great. Also, the breakfast was great and they were VERY flexible on what time to have breakfast ready for us which was perfect. Highly recommended!

The Athlone Institute of Technology is 1 km away. This place was wonderful. The owner Jim went out of his was to make us welcome and comfortable. There was glitch in our plans and Jim went out of his way to get it fixed fot us. It was raining and we got wet and cold-he brought us a heater.that warmed us up. He could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place. 😀

A number of golf courses can also be reached within a 10-minute drive. beautiful remote property close to Athlone. host was extremely friendly and allowed us to check in early.

Rooms at Shannonside all have a small en-suite bathroom with a shower curtain and free toiletries. Guests can relax in the rooms with a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some rooms also include a garden view. We received a very warm and friendly welcome. The lady explained everything to us. It was a pretty big and clean room with a nice garden view. It’s very close to the city centre and it is very quiet. It was a bit unfortunate when I found out that this bed and breakfast had no breakfast! But altogether we had a very pleasant stay.

The house is in a lovely area surrounded by a beautiful wood and only 15 minutes from Athlone. Our room was clean and comfortable. We received a warm welcome with tea and buns. We got a lovely and plentiful breakfast the next morning. Marie is a lovely down to earth woman who couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
