Our room was spacious, light and airy; it was tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. We had a beautiful view over the garden. The breakfast was delicious- fresh berries with a delightful continental breakfast. All in all superb and the best we’ve had on our trip.

Shandwick House is great value and an excellent place to stay in Tain. The room was clean and bright and the breakfast was excellent. The host was very approachable and accommodating. The nearby restaurant in the converted train station provided excellent dinners.

We liked everything. The location was sure and the pods very private. Stacy was a great host and it was the little touches she did that made it extra special for us. Very relaxed and quiet too. Beautiful old house which is absolutely charming. Lovely big room with modern bathroom keeping traditional style of period features. Really comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast and a great host. We could not have asked for more. We absolutely loved our two night stay which was made better by the personal touches and local knowledge of the host Detta. You can cook a meal in the shared kitchen, so take some food as it is quite remote.
