We were in the area visiting friends and stayed 2 nights in a cosy family room as a family of 3. The room overlooked the beautiful gardens, beds were all comfy, plenty of tea & coffee etc provided in the room. Kate & Nathan were more than welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. We ate at the Dartmoor Lodge restaurant for dinner 400m walk just up the road which we would recommend. Great location near to lots of different beaches. We will definitely be booking again next time we are in the area.

Surrounded by hiking trails, the property offers free WiFi access and free on-site parking. It was a wonderful experience, a 5-star welcome but in an informal and familiar context. Comfortable and spacious room, rich and varied breakfast, warm and relaxing environment. Within walking distance of the Dartrmoor Prison Museum and Visitor Centre (formerly Duchy Hotel) and in the heart of Dartmoor. Finally, Richard and Claire are wonderful hosts. Hope to return soon for new walks on the beautiful moor.

A beautiful (and very old) thatched country pub/hotel in idyllic surroundings in a tiny village. Following a fire a few years ago, the interior was extensively remodelled but many of the old features have been retained. Our upstairs en-suite room was of a good size and tastefully furnished. Our king bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept really well. We had an evening meal and two breakfasts in the restaurant. All of them were cooked to a high standard and represented good value. All staff without exception were friendly, welcoming and eager to help. We had a very enjoyable time and would happily stay here again if we were visiting this lovely part of Devon.
