From the minute we checked in the hosts made us feel right at home. The gentleman that checked us in gave us a run down of the city and some recommendations. The place itself was a bit different at first, as it seems like a big flat that was converted into a small boutique style hotel. This adds to the charm though, with warm decor, a kitchen with free drinks, ice cream, tea, coffee, and a dining area that can also be used to work. Several metro and bus stops are only 2-3 minutes away, and everything is flat and very walkable. There a tons of bars and eateries near by, and this place was just at the center of it all! Lastly, I just wanted to thank the staff for allowing us to check out a little later, and to hang out in the dining area as we worked and killed a few hours before taking a high speed train. Again, everyone was more than helpful and kind to us and we couldn’t recommend this place enough to anyone who asks. When back in Barcelona, we will love to stay here again. Thank you Conica!

The bed and breakfast is a short walk from Girona’s pretty squares, where there is a selection of cafés, bars and restaurants. Everything was great, really friendly staff, nice, clean room. We loved everything about our stay! Would definitely recommend!

Pension Ciudadela guest house is opposite Barcelona’s França Train Station and 100 metres from Ciudadela Park. It offers basic air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, and private bathroom facilities.

All rooms at the Ciudadela are heated, and there is a TV. Most rooms have a work desk and a private balcony. Great location. Everything is 5 mins walk away - - Franca train station , just across the road. Arrive easy - Parc de la ciudadela - 2 min walk - Barcelona Zoo - 2 min walk - El Born District - 2 mins walk - Arc de triomf - 5-10 mins walk - Beach - 5-10 mins walk - Placa Catalunya - 8 mins by bus - Gothic Quarters - 5 mins - Las Ramblas - 8 mins by bus - Picasso Museum Room was very clean and cute, bathroom was clean and comfortable. kitchen is well stocked. It was overall a comfortable stay.

Pensió Bellmirall is located in the centre of Girona’s Old Town, just 100 metres from the cathedral. The simple rooms have private bathrooms, and there is a free Wi-Fi hotspot.

During the summer, breakfast is served on the terrace. In winter, it is served in the charming dining room. There is a bar service, and guests can relax in the garden. It’s a lovely old Roman building with incredibly kind and welcoming hosts, especially Marguerite. If I ever come back to Girona, I know where I’ll stay. Lovely ‘penthouse’ room with doors/windows on four sides for view and ventilation. Modest but comfortable room but so worth the climb. Delicious breakfast. Excellent location steps from the cathedral. Visited in March.

At the guest house, all units include bed linen and towels. I really enjoyed the property, I was especially impressed when I was feeling ill from travelling how accommodating the staff were. In addition I may have had a flight delay and I was given comfort to come back to the hotel and figure out my next steps in the worst case. As a girl travelling alone, it meant I was safe.
