All units are fitted with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a minibar, a kettle, a walk-in shower, slippers and a desk. A terrace with an outdoor dining area and garden views is offered in each unit. The units have a private bathroom, a hair dryer and bed linen. A traditional Pingyao family home inside the city walls but away (5-10 minutes walk) from the busiest tourist part of town. The hosts are lovely. I stayed 2 nights. The first night I was the only guest and I met the family’s delightful 11 year old twin daughters. All in all a great place to feel part of an older China.

Pingyao Jiaxin Guesthouse features rooms with traditional Chinese-style decoration. It is only a 4-minute walk from Pingyao Railway Station. Free WiFi is accessible in all areas. It is located in Ancient City of Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a very low price I've got a room only for myself. They gave me not only towel for free but also shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and even toothbrush. Owners speak English communicatively and they are very helpful.

Just next to Xietongqing Unincorporated Bank Museum, Pingyao Baichanghong Hotel is a paper-cut-themed guest house located right in the heart of Pingyao County, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has paper-cut teaching and a gift shop on site. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Beautiful accommodation at the centre of ancient city of Pingyao in the bustling South Street. The owner and staff are very friendly, warm and helpful. They picked us up from the station and brought us to Ancient City (cars are not allowed inside) and also brought us on the day of departure, both for very reasonable fees, because we were with 5, too many for a taxi. The hotel and rooms were in a traditional style, allowing for great pictures.The beds and cushions were very comfortable for us. The bathroom and toilet are combined in a small room, but it wasn't bothersome.The owner knows the nearby shops and good spots to go to, definitely ask for tips. We enjoyed our 2 nights and 3 days in Pingyao a lot, definitely recommended.

Offering Chinese and Western food on site, Pingyao Harmony Hotel features well-decorated guestrooms and simple dormitory rooms for guests. It is located in Ancient City of Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It provides massage service, barbecue facilities and daily tour arrangements. The owners are extremely friendly and they speak English fantastically. The hotel itself looks like out of a movie, its inner courtyard s were beautiful. My room with a huge Kang bed was just incredible; I also liked the touch with the many plants in the room. I would definitely stay here again.

Offering views of Pingyao Old Town, the rooms at Lao Cheng Gen feature classic wood furnishings, a seating area and a private bathroom with free toiletries and shower facilities. There are Chinese paintings on the wall. Really typical location, I loved the vibes and the host was really a good man. Wish I could stay longer (not for the town per se, but for the accommodation)

Pingyao Jintaisheng Hotel offers rooms with fine wooden fittings and artwork from Ming and Qing dynasties. Tastefully furnished with bright prints, the air-conditioned rooms come with a cable TV and side table. Each unit also features a traditional Kang bed and a seating area. Private bathrooms offer 24-hour hot water, shower and hairdryer. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pingyao and stay at the Pingyao Ji Family Courtyard Inn. The staff were wonderful. Staying at this hotel is like a magical walk back in time.

The hotel is right in the center, but it's quiet. We had a huge bed for 3 people, enough room for everybody. The staff didn't speak any english, but used online translator and had prepared a proposal for tour for the next day with all needed info in english so it was easy and fast to decide what to do
Peaceful and quiet, the owners were lovely, and you could tell they kept pride in their place. The meals were great especially the noodles. Enjoyed breakfast which was a mix of sweet potatoes, vegetables, dumplings, sausage. The area had plenty of food around it and a short walk to the wall and ancient drum. Found out by guide the whole town is a replica made a decade ago, even the wall.

The owner of the hotel is very kind and goes out of his way to satisfy every wish of his customers. I was given a map of the old town with the owner's recommendation which attractions I should definitely see and where to eat (he even gave me some discount coupons to his favourite restaurants). The hotel is in a quiet part of the old town, but close to the main street. The interior is quite nice.
The owner speaks English and she is very kind. I booked a bed in a dormitory but she gave me the entire room for me with a private toilet. The bed is hard but I slept so well. I highly recommend it!
Charming historical building within the city centre, extremely kind staff who upgraded my room for free, helped me to bring my suitcases to the nearest taxi, found a local guide book in a book store for me and gave good advice on local restaurants. Very good level of English spoken, I highly recommend this hostel!
The location was perfect, right in the city center of the ancient city wall. The room was nice and spacious. The hosts are extremely nice and speak very good English. I would definitely recommend it!

Perfect for a weekend trip to Datong. Centrally located in the old city centre. Great service and staff. Spotless clean. Nice room with window. Good breakfast and coffee. Nice and soft bed clothes. Very quiet, no noise at all as there are no vehicles allowed. No problems at all.
