Casa do Mar stole our hearts! We loved everything about our stay. The view at sea and Faial is mesmerizing. The facilities in the house are superb, we cooked some lovely diners in the kitchen and enjoyed eating them on the shared terrace while enjoying the sunset. In the morning you are welcomed with a lovely breakfast and hot coffee. The bed and shower is good. There is osmosis tap water, therefore you do not have to buy big bottles of water. A huge supermarket is only 10min walking. The walk into town (Madalena) is only a few minutes where you can jump into the natural swimming pools, go for a nice diner or walk to the harbour to go for a whale watching tour. The interior of the house is very scandinavian and light, with lots of wood. As said… we loved it and if we ever visit Pico again we would definetely stay here again.

Helen was a fabulous host, offering us sight suggestions and general information. She was readily available to meet our every need. Breakfast was a feast, in a cozy outdoor setting, with all sorts of homemade pancakes, cake, oatmeal, breads, jams and fruit, meeting all our dietary needs. The room was perfect, with a large comfortable bed, a small counter area with a sink, a fridge, and available tableware. The bathroom was spacious and modern, having all been recently renovated. Highly recommended. Thank you Helen for a great weeklong stay.

Beautiful apartment in a wonderful location by the sea. Loved using the BBQ and swimming in the local pools. Also a great place to see a sunset by the sea! The host was super helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous views and convenient off-road parking. The breakfasts were definitely a highlight and the lady who served them was a ray of sunshine and made our stay more special. It's a lovely quiet location and the room provides a fridge and kettle, which is handy. The outdoor kitchen is really fantastic. The room is quite standard and comfortable - what you would expect. Nice and warm, gets lots of sunshine.
Helen is a great host! She was extremely helpful before and during my visit with helping to arrange taxi service, where to eat, what to see and taking care of a small repair that needed to be done to the desk in the room. VERY GOOD breakfast.

I doubt you will find a better place to stay than this! From the warm welcome to the excellent breakfasts with homemade pancakes, preserves and a great selection of island cheeses and cold cuts, fruits too! Helen and Vera are fantastic hosts and gave us lots of useful information about places to see around Pico.
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with an outside patio in the beautiful garden. If you're looking for a place to stay that feels like home...then this is for you!
Helen & Vera both really went the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The guest house is a bit remote, you really need a car. Great view on the ocean. Excellent breakfast.
