Absolutely amazing place. Lots of nice pockets to sit and relax, the rooms and the whole hotel are beautiful, and Amani, who runs it, is lovely and incredibly helpful -- we were met at the airport even though we forgot to share our flight time! Could not recommend more.

I recently stayed at Beytul Habaib in Lamu and had amazing experience. The staff especially David was friendly and helpful and a nice Chef as well . The spacious apartments offered lovely views and was perfect for my family. However, the location is a bit far from the town center but we had a good arrangement of transport by motorcycle. The property combines modern and traditional Swahili decor nicely, very Clean and well maintained. Overall, it's a peaceful place and I strongly recommend my friends specially with family to consider Beytul Habaib while visiting Lamu

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach.

The bright rooms at Subira House have either a patio or a balcony and some have sea views and free Wi-Fi. Every room has a fan, a seating area, and a dining area.

Gorgeous house with amazing swahili flair, lovely hosts. Seems like they contribute to the Lamu community in a big way, they are well known and loved with everyone I spoke to. Hotel staff will help you organize any outing you‘d like, I can recommend Dhow trips, but they also help with other activities (plus reasonable pricing recommendations). Eco friendly facilities and the breakfast is amazing with ingredients sourced almost exclusively from their own Lamu farm.

Accommodation in a quiet location, yet close to the port. Large rooms with good facilities (only the bathroom a bit outdated). There is a large terrace with views of the town and surrounding countryside. Friendly and helpful staff (Joseph) who arranged our transport from the airport, did our shopping and helped us with our suitcase. Shela is the perfect place to stay on Lamu!

For our short stay it was really appreciated the small additional services Shela Bahari’s team provided: the pot with a tea just to bed :))) and late check out to fit our departure. Than you a lot! And a view from our private balcony was really amazing! Lamu town in 30-35 minutes of walk when beaches just in a minute

It's a nice and quiet area that feels very safe and a bit away from the posh tourist places. The bed was huge and comfy. Joseph was very helpful and always reachable if we needed anything. For example, the first night, we asked for an extra fan for the room as the ceiling fan didn't do a very good job, and Joseph instantly got us one.

We had a great amount of space, and access to the terrace outside our room and the rooftop upstairs. Quick 6/7 minute walk to the beach and close to a little shop that sell amazing early morning snacks and a fridge full of cold drinks. The room (ours was top floor room) had wonderful air flow, and constant breeze which was very welcome in the heat. Staff were all great and very kind. Quiet streets after 10pm with only the sound of the donkeys and the odd cat. Very cool.
