We chose to stay here in advance of doing the Shimanami Kaido cycle from Onomichi, in order to get to Mukaishima, you will need to exit Onomichi station, cross over the footbridge and go onto the ferry which costs 100 yen per person. I would recommend calling ahead while you are waiting for the ferry to allow time for pickup. Yuji, Junko and Akana were extremely welcoming hosts providing door to door service and a lovely home cooked breakfast with actual proper bread!! for only 500 yen per person. For 2 people you have your own bedroom and living room. Well worth staying here especially if you want a more personal experience.

The host was exceptional. Dinner and breakfast was included and both were traditional Japanese and delicious. Our host was so kind and drove us to the bike oasis where we hired our bikes. We absolutely loved the islands in the seto sea and it was wonderful to be staying on one of them and made to feel so welcome. The whole experience was a major highlight of our stay!

Location is great, it's right by the water. We actually were on our bicycles to get there and no problem locating the hotel. There's plenty of parking spaces in front of the hotel, if you come by car. Facilities are great. We stayed in shared dorm using shared bathroom which is no issue for us at all. Bunk bed is quite comfy and quiet at night. Bathroom is squeaky clean, very very clean! We love everything here and will definitely plan a trip to stay here again!

The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful and really goes the extra mile to ensure that the guests are satisfied. It feels like being part of a family. The room is also very spacious with all necessary amenities, all be it with a homely feeling. The outdoor area also has many features including a playground picknick tables and much more. My expectations were certainly surpassed!
