We stayed her for one night night and Mariko’s exceptional hospitality was very much present from start to finish.
Everything is very clean and well thought out.
We received a complimentary breakfast which was delicious and little gifts she did make herself which we very much appreciated.
I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting the Nikko area as great stay and super convenient location. The host also takes time to talk you through all attractions with handy maps being available, which tickets to buy and buses to take.

Everything was exceptional. Hiro is the best host ever - funny and witty and super lovely to talk to. He not only picked us up/dropped us off on arrival and departure, he gave us lifts every day morning&evening and even dropped us off at his favourite ramen place close by (can recommend!). His side-kick Marie (little shih-tzu) is a d o r a b l e!
The tatami mats/futon beds where super comfortable and the place is quiet and serene and perfect to explore and relax.

Mariko san went way above expectations in supporting guests - We unfortunately presented with some personal problem and are very grateful for her assistance. Lovely, clean and quiet place. Izumi was a great host. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We had the privilege to see a mother deer with its fawn from our deck, it was spectacular. We highly recommend this beautiful stay.

Location is very good, close to most of the main temples in the area and a few nice restaurants nearby. The hotel is simple yet charming and well kept and the private Japanese bath is a plus. Staff is friendly.

Great hosts who went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. Spotless house, quiet location, beautiful touches to make it feel homely, an awesome bath that stays hot and fills automatically- the best bath I have ever had! Hosts had information including timetables for buses, shows at edo wonderland at their finger tips. Walking distance - 5mins to bus stop and only 10mins tops to train station. Host also took us to the train station in their private car - very friendly, polite and helpful. Loved our stay and wish we stayed longer.
Great location for visiting the shrines and temples. Quiet and cosy, old style and comforting. Free tea and coffee and use of tableware if you want to eat your own food. Friendly owner with great advice about where to visit and where to eat. Spotless shared washrooms. Great private Japanese style baths for a good soak at the end of the day. Easy access by bus from the station.
I enjoyed the breakfast of toast, an egg, fruit, and coffee (not included in my room price); it was perhaps a little pricey but very convenient.
