It turned out to be more of a self-catering place, which was good for us, which gave us options about evening meals and breakfast. Cereals, bread, milk etc were provided. Large comfy bed was better than most hotels.

Lovely stay for the Great North Run not too far from Newcastle. John was an amazing host that makes you feel welcome in his home and comes across as a genuinely friendly and kind person. The property was clean, the bed is extremely comfortable and the plant-based breakfast was great.

The village was quiet and picturesque with a well stocked shop and pleasant coffee shop. The inn sold delicious and hearty food which was ideal after a day of walking, and the bed was very comfortable.

2 mins from a co-op. So quiet we didn't hear ANY of the pub noise downstairs - even during the footy! Had a BATH!! Could store our bikes in the pub shed, safe and dry.

Great location, staff, food and stay. Perfect for an overnight stay as we had a concert to go to in Newcastle city centre, however we never would have known how beautiful Wylam was if it wasn't for this.

Our light supper in the bar was nicely presented and very tasty. The bar staff were lovely friendly people; very helpful and obliging when we asked for information about the town. The lady hostess was charming and very welcoming. Our room was comfortable, quiet and well equipped. The paint was fresh and the beds suited us. There was plenty of room for our car in the car park.

A very impressive and well run guest house in a great location. The room was comfortable and quiet and had everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Breakfast was great - you only pay for what you choose from a bowl of cereal to full bacon and eggs. The veggie and vegan options were superb.
