All the food was great. The house is full of interesting curios and souvenirs and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. There are two excellent rooms to sit and read surrounded by curios from a life spent in Africa and India and other exotic places. Full of character and atmosphere - not so much a hotel as a country house - as the name implies.

Excellent location near downtown Lerwick. Parking is very easy. We were in the Superior Suite, and the bedroom and bathroom were comfortably large and well laid-out. The double sink is a nice touch. I enjoyed the continental breakfast options provided. The accommodations exceeded my expectations!

The hotel was neither far from the center of the town (about ten minutes walking distance) nor from the countryside (in less than five minute's drive could be out and away of town). Breakfast was abundant and more like a Scottish breakfast than a continental one. Could keep going till dinner time without a real need for a lunch break.
