What a great breakfast, expected continental but got a full English. As an expat I really love and miss these. Staff helped with parking advice and we found it superb value for money.

What made the stay overwhelmingly pleasant was the welcoming and all round attentiveness of the owner to me and my dog.

It’s location was good to break our journey home after our holiday in Northumbria and Scotland
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Breakfast was excellent.
Felt very welcomed and at home in the hotel.
Very comfy bed, very quiet night. Lovely village to explore and very close in fact walking distance to the Acorn House National Trust property and gardens , well worth a visit.
A small hotel/pub in a quiet village off the A66, this made a good stop for us on the way back from Scotland, but could easily be a base for a longer stay (they seem to specialise in fishing packages).
The staff were friendly. Dinner and breakfast were good, with a good range of choice (will cook a fish if you catch one). The room was cosy and comfortable.
It was warm welcoming and great location
Excellent breakfast polite staff and fantastic owners even provided dog treats.
Totally recommend.
