Breakfast was fine for me. I like muesli, fruit and yoghurt. I liked chatting to the host over breakfast. She's a great character.

Extremely friendly and warm welcome. Our room was in the loft, which was a wonderful space, with a huge bathroom and a small kitchen and dining area for our use. There was so much room for storage which we didn’t take advantage of as we were only staying one night. We joined the locals in the bar for a drink and they were also welcoming. Lovely pub in the picturesque Appleby in Westmorland. We arrived later in the evening, it was a stopover on our way to Scotland. We parked directly outside using a disc given to us by the pub, because we left before 10.00am the next day, parking was free. Breakfast was delicious, particularly the local butchers sausage ring. This was a fabulous find, so much so , we are going to make a special trip back to explore Appleby and The Eden Valley.

Great stay, Jovial helpful staff and great food. Very enjoyable, would recommend. We were staying for the outdoor screening of Withnail and I. So the comfort of the Inn was preferable to a tent on a hill! The photo is of the actual phone box that was used in the film, it is just around the corner from the Pub (Nerds)

Room was very spacious and comfortable, especially the bed. Good selection of teas and coffee available in the room. Lovely shower.
Dinner in the restaurant was well presented and very tasty. The breakfast options were very good, delicious fresh fruit and home made selection of jam and marmalade the ginger jam was wonderful. Nicely cooked full English with other options available.
All the waiting on staff were very friendly as was the lady on the bar.
It was very quiet no motorway or traffic noise at all.
Excellent value for money, great location, and very friendly hosts, with no problems storing my bike for the evening. Close to a pub for evening meal, but very quiet in the evening as well. A tasty breakfast was served early which suited my needs. The room I had was enormous!
Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice. Dining room has beautiful views. We had dinner there too, again good choice and well cooked. Comfortable bed and nice pillows. Quiet location.
