The little market town, where the Saracen's Head is placed is a gem - very pretty. The Saracen's Head itself is a characterful Tudor building. The bar and dining room were characterful too. Plenty of local ales, a varied menu and lovely staff and locals. The evening meal was delicious. All "homemade", fresh ingredients and plentiful portions.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
The hotel is centrally located in lovely Shrivenham with plenty of parking in front and at the rear, where there is a beer garden and terrace. We stayed in a quiet, ground floor room in the annexe to the main building, which was well equipped with a very modern bathroom. There was more than adequate storage with a large wardrobe and chests of drawers with bedside lighting. The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Best of all was the welcome shown to us by the staff, who were attentive for the duration of our stay.
Friendly and helpful staff - I felt incredibly welcome and they answered all my questions. It was a beautiful room with a very comfy bed and great shower. The breakfast was delicious too! In a great location & would happily stay again.
Nice village pub/ bar with modern rooms at the back: quiet and comfy. Brilliant breakfast; table with fruit, yogurt, cornflakes, ham, cheese, smoked salmon etc. With really high quality cooked options.
