Blackwell House, hotel in Portadown

Blackwell House is located in the countryside bordering County Down and County Armagh, 5 miles from Banbridge. This beautiful country house offers lovely rooms, a restaurant and a garden.

We loved Blackwell House. However, it took us a good 20 minutes to find it in the hills. There was no signpost at the end of the lane, which there should be. Even if they just had a sign there temporary while guests are due. We use SAT NAV all the time and have no problem. We ended up in a farmers yard and they told us, they have many people driving up to them and they told us where it was. Once we got it was was terrific. Mary O Malley

The Vandees, hotel in Portadown

Set in the tranquil Northern Irish countryside, The Vandees offers boutique bed and breakfast accommodation. Free private parking is possible on site, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout.

The Vendees is in a quiet, rural location in a small village. It gave good access to County Down and Belfast. The breakfast was plentiful and there was a choice from continental items and cooked food, including an Ulster fry up and pancakes! Noreen and JP were very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of suggestions for places to visit. The room was lovely and the bed and sheets very comfortable. A guest sitting room is provided and homemade cake on arrival, which was very tasty!

Great location, it was very quiet and peaceful; The host was amazing, great communication and clear instructions on how to use the hot tub/speaker, as well as instruction (with pictures!) of how to get to the property which was very much appreciated :) Loved the hot tub as well as the Shepherd's Hut itself, very cozy and comfortable, very clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances. We also got to meet and pet a very friendly cat :D

The cabin was amazing in every way. Very clean, warm, private and quiet. It had everything you needed for cooking with the option of using an outdoor grill. We all enjoyed the hot tub. A nice way to relax after a days walking and exploring. I would highly recommend this place if you want to relax and unwind.
