The 5 star rated Hill Crest Guest House is an award winning Luxurious Cumbrian house set in a country location with free off road parking. Excellent breakfasts cooked by the host/chef, first class hospitality and complimentary cream tea on arrival.

Jane made us feel so welcome, with home made scones on arrival and flapjacks each afternoon. Jane is a lovely chatty woman with lots of local information. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed, lots of tea and coffe and bottles of water and a good sized shower. A good selection for breakfast and a lovely cooked full English to set you up for the day. A lovely relaxing break.

The bed and breakfast, housed in a building dating from 17th century, is 47 km from the Trough of Bowland. The property offers allergy-free units and is situated 21 km from World of Beatrix Potter.

Fantastic bed and breakfast in the epicentre of lovely Cartmel. Communication with Rachel prior to arrival was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, both the public areas and the room in which we stayed. The room, recently re-decorated, is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Modern bathroom, super comfrotable bed, tea kettle/espresso machine - who needs more? Breakfast was stellar, be it the full English or the continental. We'll be delighted to come back and we thank Rachel for making our weekend in Cartmel special!

Breakfast excellent, especially the fresh fruit salad. Room very quiet and comfortable. Within easy walking distance of Newby Bridge along a very good pathway away from the road. Was seen out onto the road every morning by the owner, making it very safe.

Room was nice and comfy with an AC, and the room service for breakfast was good. The free indoors pool with steam and dry sauna was really great. On the whole, the hotel is charming, and has a very pleasant seating area outside right next to the river. It is also wonderfully quiet around, and great for relaxing
