The Rock Inn, hotel in Moretonhampstead

With a stunning location in Dartmoor National Park, this inn is set in the rural hamlet of Haytor Vale. Dating back to the 18th century, it offers fantastic food and free Wi-Fi throughout.

We were in the area for work and stayed Sunday night. We arrived late for Sunday lunch and the staff were really nice and nothing was a problem. The food was fantastic and good value. We were very impressed with the room on the top floor. Very big, lovely spacious bathroom with bath tub and separate shower. We would have loved to explore the area, but we only had time to have a quick walk…but what a walk! It is right next to some stunning views and rocks and we saw plenty of wild ponies. Just magical. The breakfast was also fabulous and the staff super friendly. Would love to come and stay for a longer break and explore the area. 100% recommend.

The Three Crowns, hotel in Moretonhampstead

Located within the Dartmoor National Park, The Three Crowns is a 13th Century coaching inn with 5-star accommodation.

Loved this beautiful old hotel in this very pretty quaint village. We had an upgraded room which included a carpark, for which we were very grateful. Our room size was very generous and the cooked to order breakfast was first rate. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

The Cromwell Arms Inn, hotel in Moretonhampstead

The Cromwell Arms is a 17th century oak-beamed coaching inn situated in Bovey Tracey. On the edge of Dartmoor National Park, 6.4 km from Haytor Rocks, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful enough for me. There were tea and coffee facilities. The mattresss was firm, as I like and pillows were also good (and there were plenty of them). The wifi was fast and free. There was a working TV in the room but I didn't use it. There was also a mounted hairdryer in the bathroom which worked well enough to dry my long hair. I slept well, once I had gotten to sleep (see what I didn't like ooops!). The breakfast was very nice and comprehensive, apart from the coffee (see below). I was offered a cooked breakfast but I didn't have time, however the options were marvellous. Parking was free and there were many spaces available in the car park behind the pub. It was a perfect location both for work and for me to get a fab run in before heading off.

The Northmore Arms, hotel in Moretonhampstead

Situated in Throwleigh, 32 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse, The Northmore Arms features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

The staff are lovely. The position is superb - very rural. It's an old traditional Inn with a tiny bar and two rooms upstairs. It took us both back to our youth. There is a lovely open fire on one side and a log burner on the other. The open fire was going, and I'm sure in the deep of winter when the log burner is going too, it is very cosy (it was cosy anyway, but it's not cold yet). Plenty of lane walks around the area. Food was very nice and the breakfast was lovely! It's a shared bathroom and a little tired, but the shower is great. Well worth a visit to this quirky Inn.

Great location for spending some time on Dartmoor. Central location for an evening in the village pubs and the Italian was good for Pizza. Easy to park opposite. Comfortable night sleep, very quiet and cracking breakfast in the morning.

Amazing weekend away in a beautiful b and b. Andy and Sue were so welcoming (despite us bringing a 6 week old baby and massive dog!), nothing was too much trouble. Sue even posted me back my phone charger when I forgot! Great location and amazing value for money - will definitely be returning!

We attended a wedding with family who had multiple different needs so self catering was ideal. We would have partaken of your breakfast but felt that it was rather on the steep side for so many of us. Maybe you could offer a cheaper self-catering option for your guests in the Lodges. The Lodges were superb and beautifully decorated and furnished and had all the equipment that we needed. Your staff were amazing and supplied all the extra equipment that was needed
