The staff were excellent, food was excellent and the whole experience was delightful
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
We were delighted by the interaction with Sam and the locals, the football was on and we chatted to everyone and were treated as part of the gang, they also gave us tips on where to go.
Great location for our stop over on the way to Scotland, but perfectly placed for a trip further into The Lakes.
The room was wonderful, couldn't have asked for more, I was concerned on arrival that it was next to the road, but the walls are so thick we didn't hear it at all.
We ate here too and the food was incredibly tasty.
Friendly helpful bar/hotel manager, clean, quiet, nice restaurant dinner. Location halfway from Lands End to John O'Groats, cheaper than Lakes District
Friendliness of all the staff. Excellent pint of Guinness
Exceptionally good food with varied menu for an evening meal and great breakfast.
Considering it's a pub, our room was lovely and quiet with no noise from the pub downstairs.
The hotel room was very comfortable and quiet with a small but well appointed shower room. Although the hotel is located on a road there is little noise and our sleep was not affected. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable quiet room, friendly staff, convenient for the Lake district. Good meals served in the bar but no noise at all in the bedrooms from the pub downstairs.
Cheap as chips.
£60 for B&B for three of us, inc. 2 dogs.
Absolute bargain.
Excellent breakfast.
Would have paid a tenner for it, elsewhere.
