The miners arms Brassington, hotel in Matlock

Located in Matlock and only 22 km from Chatsworth House, The miners arms Brassington provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

What a lovely little break we had at The Miners Arms! The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. The room was fresh and clean and stocked up with, tea, coffee, biscuits and soft drinks. There was also a basket of hygiene supplies in the bathroom which was an added bonus. Included in the price was a lovely breakfast that consisted of a choice of cereals, fresh milk, orange juice, a choice of hot drinks and then a cooked breakfast to follow. The first day I chose a sausage bap whilst my wife had toast and the next day we opted for a lovely Full English. In the evening we were welcomed by the locals to join in with the monthly, fun pub quiz and a game of Sticky 13's, a card game that resembles Bingo (which I was fortunate to win a round). Our absolute favourite part though was, meeting the resident dog, the gorgeous Ronnie. He was kind enough to let us take him for a walk and showed us all round the local village. Many thanks to Trevor and Julie, for making us feel so welcome. This is one of the friendliest places we have been fortunate to stay at and we will definitely return.

High Tor Hotel, hotel in Matlock

A 7-minute walk from the town, High Tor Hotel in Matlock offers boutique-style accommodation within 5 minutes’ drive of the Peak District National Park.

Clean and tidy communal areas and room and room was reasonably furnished, it did have a vaulted ceiling(could be difficult for two sharing) as access to bed from one side only. Small shower & toilet a little cramped again with sloping/vaulted ceiling, decent shower... really it is a single room. Evening meal was fine and delivered to the table on time as ordered. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment and I only saw one member of staff who was polite, pleasant and personable.

Devonshire Arms at Beeley - Chatsworth, hotel in Matlock

Devonshire Arms at Beeley is located on the Chatsworth Estate, which is owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

Breakfast was good. Good selection of both hot and cold options. Our room was comfortable although we had the one with an enormous bath actually in the bedroom! A bit quirky! The bed was very comfy. The dinner menu was a little limited, but all the dishes we sampled were well presented and cooked.

The location was ideal, and even though the B&B was on a main road, the windows are tripled glazed and it's very quiet. The bed was super comfy, and the morning breakfast was great. We loved our room, and our private bathroom was just opposite. The added touch of a fridge and the super quiet fan was appreciated. We would definitely revisit.

    - Lovely cosy/homely feel. - Well maintained and very clean. - Set back from the road, quiet and feels like a hideaway! - Fully equipped. - Nice sized, secure courtyard, with outdoor seating area (roof with fairy lights over seating!). - Great location! - Seperate private parking. We honestly couldn't fault the studio at all. It was a really fabulous place to stay, we felt very comfortable and can't wait to return!

Gorgeous garden with seating areas including a summer house with sofas and even tea and coffee facilities. Lovely thoughtful touches like books and extra tea and coffee supplies on the landing.
