Thrumster House, hotel in Lybster

Thrumster House is set in 20 acres of gardens and woodland within 10 minutes’ drive of Wick and less than 2 miles from the sea.

The hosts were lovely ladies. We sat drinking whisky by the fire with them chatting about the area and estate. The house is full of old furniture and interesting points of interest. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. It wouldn't suit everyone, but we loved it and would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

Harbour House Bed & Breakfast - Wick, hotel in Lybster

This 19th Century property was previously home to the harbour masters of Pulteney, and has now been converted into bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of Wick.

Unassuming from the outside but the top-floor room gave us great views across the harbour. Host is happy to chat and suggest stops locally as well as cooking an excellent breakfast.

Fantastic hosts, so friendly, couldn’t do enough for us, and very knowledgeable about the local area. Newly renovated bedroom was lovely, some nice touches and an excellent breakfast. Nice quiet location just off the main NC500 route with a pub restaurant in walking distance and lots of tourist attractions close by.

We had been tent camping whilst doing the NC500 during a consistently wet and windy spell of weather. We booked last minute and our host was so welcoming. Very quiet location with a view to a pretty bay that we would have explored had we had the time. We had a very peaceful evening and we left the next morning fully rested and well fuelled by a most excellent breakfast!!!! Thank you so much, we would definitely stay again.

The flat turned out to be a lot nicer than it looked in the photos. Great location, and handy for an evening meal at the hotel. Some lovely thoughtful touches in the flat, and it felt private. Parking on site very handy.
