Situated on the outskirts of the village of Shefford Woodlands, The Pheasant Inn boasts a traditional restaurant and a cosy bar with an open fire.

Stayed in the Pheasant Room with my sister. Tucked under the eaves with a modern bathroom, it was very cosy. Lovely evening meal and breakfast.

Very quiet location for a peaceful sleep. We did hear an owl hoot in the evening, very special! The bed is enormous and really very comfortable with good quality duvet and pillows. Large bathroom as well with all facilities. Dogs were super friendly and welcoming as well as their owner. I loved seeing the squirrels run and jump in and out of the walnut tree.

The Pelican Inn, hotel in Hungerford

The Pelican Inn is located in Froxfield, 26 km from Highclere Castle and 40 km from Lydiard Park. With free WiFi, this 3-star inn offers luggage storage space.

The staff welcomed me at check-in and where there when I returned at around 21.45 for the night. Alas, the bar was by then closed so I couldn't enjoy a locally made nightcap, but I appreciate that trade is quiet and not worth keeping the lights on if no one is coming for a meal or drink. I slept really well on super comfy bed, had a great shower in the morning and on leaving discovered the waterside area! What a treat!! So, in all a great experience to be thoroughly recommended. Many thanks and best wishes for the future; you've got a brilliant place! Jon

I always think the breakfast is wasted on us because we don’t like a cooked breakfast, but we enjoyed the fresh fruit and natural yogurt. It was also very nice to have the pots of tea brought to our table. Breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed our pizza meal. Lovely shower.

To be honest we were looking for a no frills cheap room for an overnight stay. But what we found was a hidden gem of a pub located on the main road. Lovely little pub, great staff, and a huge family room. While all the other accommodations in the area were ridiculously expensive, this little gem was more than resonable

Location - in a private estate away from the main roads, very quiet and secluded. Space - 3 couples had ample of space throughout the cottage. Open kitchen and dining area great for a get together and separate living area with sofas. Very comfortable beds and showers were great. Walk down to the canal into Hungerford - loads of different routes to walk in the area.

In a convenient, pretty location the Queens Arms is well presented and charming. Very comfortable beds. The room was quiet and cool (the visit was during a heatwave). A nice little touch was a leaflet included in the room about a walk around the local village. We highly recommend a look around - East Garston is absolutely beautiful with a lot of stunning thatched cottages.
