Newly refurbished room, comfy bed, good shower. Pleasant welcome. Good full English breakfast. Our room overlooked the road but was quiet. They don't do evening meals but are happy for you to bring in a takeaway and eat it in the bar.

The reception and the cats of the staff for us and ours dog was very welcoming . We had a nice surprise for my birthday, the evening meal and the breakfast was very good . Very dog friendly , good bed/ room and lovely cosy feeling throughout the entire place .

The George & Dragon is a charming pub / B+B surrounded by gorgeous countryside criss-crossed with lovely walks. The staff are very friendly and the place has a relaxed but well-run vibe. I needed somewhere to stay within reach of Chesterfield and this was about right. Being about 5 miles away, a taxi ride costs around £20.
Great location, good for Peak District trip if you want to explore more than one place. Nice pub with rooms above. Nice little village, kind people and staff.
