Lovely B&B, beautifully decorated, good-sized rooms with en-suite. The breakfast was great (although served from 8 am onward), and the staff friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel, so the rooms are not cleaned during your stay (I stayed 4 nights). The location is great, within walking distance from the station and the city centre.
The Three Horseshoes is situated within 10 minutes’ drive of the beautiful city of Durham. With parts of the building over 300 years old, it still retains some quirky, original features.

A rainy day as we approached and we were a little apprehensive as the pub/hotel looked a little remote. However, the staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. The food was superb, good portion sizes as well. Great location for visiting Durham as well as a short distance from Newcastle

The property is beautiful. Grand yet really cosy. They have truly thought of everything. Everywhere you look is a visual delight, everything you touch is purposeful and luxurious. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, location was very convenient and the staff were very friendly, Gillian in particular was great. Linens and towels were all good, plenty of bathroom supplies. Nice hot shower.

The Avenue was easy to find and the staff were great. Unfortunately we were too late for an evening meal but the breakfast was really good. There was a good quality tea and coffee selection in the room with biscuits. The room size was ok with twin beds.
We were visiting Durham and the location was great, with the buses running past the hotel.

Very friendly staff, beautifully decorated hall, dining room & sitting room, great location in a quiet street right by the city centre and excellent breakfast!
There is lots of living space, with a lovely sitting room and kitchen, as well as a nice kitchen. If it is sunny there is a cute little garden. Nice and private and quiet. Easy parking for 1 car. Check in very simple with good clear instructions. Quick walk through the forest down to the river. Cheap Uber trips back from restaurants in the evening.
Accommodation is situated above one of the last authentic traditonal pubs in the UK.
Great atmosphere in the cosy pub for locals and visitors alike and decorated with antiques and serving great ales and wines.

Spacious, well-maintained and decorated, clean, warm, and quiet. Large comfy king-size bed (didn’t try the double in the 2nd bedroom but it looked just as good), well-equipped kitchen, lovely clean bathroom and cosy living space with a smart TV and great wifi. Great location 5 mins from the City and with private off-road parking. What more could you ask for? Would highly recommend and will definitely try and book again.
