The accommodation is actually a large annexe to the main house, with its own private entrance into the sitting/dining area, with fabulous views out over the Scottish landscape, with sheep and cows grazing. Very quiet and peaceful and an ideal spot for a decent night’s sleep. The bedroom was huge and one of the comfiest beds ever! Everything was perfect, a home from home with everything you could possible need. Continental breakfast was provided with so much choice and was ready waiting for us when we checked in. We were en route to take the ferry from Cairnryan back to Ireland and it was around an hour and a half’s drive from the port, yet only a few minutes from the main A75. We were able to sit out in the garden and enjoy the sunshine when we arrived which was a bonus. We will definitely stay here again.

The space was really big. Parking right at the door. Refurbished bathroom. Great heating. Very comfortable bed. I think the previous review was a bit harsh. It’s an apartment attached to an old home. Whilst it was admittedly a bit musty smelling, it certainly wasn’t dirty. I think that when the renovations are complete and the kitchen is done it will be a great place to stay for longer than one night.

The location was brilliant. The roads in the area, although minor, are in very good condition and very quiet. The views from the living room are fantastic. The bedroom enormous. The furniture etc very tasteful and the layout perfect. The heating was good when needed, but the bungalow is generally a very warm building. The sheep were beautiful. This place is as faraway from the mad world you can get, and yet relatively easy to get to, and then when you get back to the mad, mad world relish the memory.
I was delayed the provider very accommodating Lovely well equipped little house with spectacular views
If I am in the area again I will be looking to book
Another bonus a lot cheaper than the chain hotels
We were surrounded by sheep, dogs, chickens and ducks, red kites circling above. Situated on a rise there were views across the valley, darkness and quiet at night. The stone built cottage was warm and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is small but well thought through.
We were welcomed by Simon as soon as we arrived. The cottage was spacious and had everything in it we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the cottage was extremely clean. We were encouraged to see the lambs, sheep, pony, chickens, and dogs, which my boys absolutely loved. The scenery and views are exceptional, and we had a lovely, quiet weekend away. We would definitely recommend a stay here, and we'll definitely be back.
A lovely breakfast was prepared as requested. Both cooked and continental style breakfasts were available. The property is situated in a very quiet rural location and the hosts are both attentive and pleasant.
It was a very rural situation, great if you like sheep outside your bedroom window. Great hosts and I was given a lovely afternoon tea both days and had my own sitting room.
Excellent breakfast. Very convenient location for Penpont.
