It was clean, comfortable. We had a room at the top of what is an town house and the views over Dorchester were wonderful from all the windows. Our room had a bedroom, a sitting room with a big telly and a large bathroom with a roll top bath and a separate great shower. Lovely thick towels provided.
The breakfast which is included was first rate. Each morning I chose something different and each one, we were there 4 mornings, was delicious.
The proprietors, Karl and Jocelyn, were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
The location was perfect for us. Town centre with loads of good restaurants and coffee shops and the usual chains of shops but also lots of independent shops too. Loads of museums if that’s your thing. It is ours.

Brilliant staff. They were really nice and warm and made us feel very welcome.
We ate at the restaurant which was incredible. The chef clearly takes a lot of pride in their work because the dining experience was exceptional.

The New Inn is a beautifully renovated building, in quiet village location with narrow lanes , as you’d expect.
Our room was clean and had a very comfortable, huge bed. A well stocked hospitality tray with everything you could possibly want, teas, coffee biscuits, even bottles of water.
In the dining area the tables were well placed giving plenty of space between. We had an evening meal, there were plenty of choices available, good quality and presentation . The same goes for breakfast the next morning.
As a bonus we visited Monkey World on our way home as it wasn’t far away.

We liked the location of the property. The property had a lot of character and was very private and quiet with off road parking. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of plates and utensils.
We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast was exceptional. The room was very nice and it felt really welcoming. Having fresh milk delivered to your door each morning was a lovely touch. The location is great, it is only 5 minutes by car from Dorchester but you are in beautiful countryside. It was very quiet and the owners were great hosts. We will be returning in the summer for sure.
