Clayton Wickham Farmhouse, hotel in Danehill

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Clayton Wickham Farmhouse is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Hurstpierpoint, 14 km from Preston Park.

We stayed in the four poster room which was beautifully furnished and spacious with views over the gardens and fields. In the morning Suzzi cooked a delicious breakfast which we took in the garden dinning room. The farmhouse was full of English charm and history throughout - a luxurious and relaxing place to stay in a fabulous rural location.

Amazing countryside views, very clean & well presented. Nice full English on the terrace. Lovely hostess. Private balcony with lovely view. Tricky to find - follow the directions - but the privacy is worth it.

The room itself was lovely - a section of a barn, beautifully and comfortably furnished with a really comfortable bed, an en-suite shower, very pretty country-style cotton bedding and lovely decor. We did not get good weather, so could not use the very pleasant private patio to sunbathe on the sun-beds, overlooking the beautiful deep Sussex countryside. Lovely views.

Location perfect as we were down for the flying scottsman at bluebell Station . Definitely worth a visit to see the station and museum alone . . Accommodation and host lovely . . We had the small double which was nice / clean and the large balcony doubled the living space . . Evenings were spent watching deer and the clear ngts star gazing . . Accommodation was off the beaten track ( don't give up uour sat nav just gets you there ) but the peace and quiet well worth it . . Definitely would revisit . .

A beautiful secluded destination. The main suite is superb, spacious and well-finished. The second room - where we stayed - is more compact and less sensational but has a private sun terrace. Breakfast al fresco was a treat as it had been raining the previous day.

It's a remote, beautiful place, fantastic in its simplicity and the sweetness of Leslie, the owner/cleaner/cook/everything. Leslie waited for us outside past midnight as we were coming down from Heathrow, to make sure we find the place allright. If you are looking for luxury, this place is not for you. If you are looking for a charming place to spend some time, walking, roaming, or just sitting, perhaps writing - this is for you.
