Very clean and spacious, attractive room, huge comfortable bed with good quality bed linen, big TV, spacious bathroom, large shower cubicle and great towels, first meal in the restaurant was delicious (beef bourguignon), good local ale at a reasonable price, breakfast was mixed but full English was very good. Dark haired lady on duty on our first night was lovely, friendly and very professional (apologies for not having a name). Contact via the app was good and the code access worked well. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space. The convenience of a dishwasher. Private parking right by the apartment. A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Wood House has a great location looking out across Crummock Water. Rooms are a good size with everything you need like toiletries and tea/coffee. The house is full of character with old furniture and prints. Lounge is quiet and comfortable, a great place to relax or work. Breakfast and meals are in the dining room with one large table which means you meet the other guests and strike up enjoyable conversations. The overall atmosphere is homely, welcoming and friendly.

The property is in a quiet location with parking but occupies only half of the bungalow shown, so not as spacious as you might expect, but fine for a couple as we were but we would have felt a bit cramped with four adults in the living area but in warmer weather there is a large enclosed private courtyard with BBQ etc for al fresco dining & for sitting outside. The property was super clean, had a well equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom with good shower, comfortable seating & very comfy beds.

The cottage was immaculately clean and all the kitchenware and bedding looked brand new. Great location for those travelling without a car as the bus stop, main street and supermarkets were no more than a five minute walk. It was warm, comfortable, very quiet and I throughly enjoyed my week there.

Our room was at the back and was very quiet. It was a little dark but there was plenty of good lighting. The room was well decorated and the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast was superb. We also ate our evening meal there on the Saturday and the food was of really good quality and the service and the staff were excellent. The hotel has a great location near the centre of the town.
