Love that the TV had Netflix etc.
love the comfort of the bed, and the heating in the room was fantastic!

Outstanding hospitality. This was our second occasion. We opted for location fully informed that there was no breakfast and we were a few miles from the nearest cluster of eating places so came prepared.
We slept beautifully in the peaceful rural location and comfy 4 poster bed. The room and en suite were top to bottom clean and we were treated to a top of the range coffee machine. So much quality. When the internet went down, we contacted Jules who was on his own as Ausra was visiting family. He couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful and took an interest in our well being with chat and banter on both check-in and check-out. Even the turkeys and peahens in the grounds were friendly and followed us around when we went for a walk. An altogether memorable and relaxing experience….again!

On arrival the hotel looked OK, it was reasonably priced, the bar area was quite good, the upstairs areas and room were a little grubby and dated, but, for the price I've stayed in worse, the breakfast was also quite good. That's the good bit.
I suppose we would have been quite happy with our stay had it not been for the events of the first night
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Great staff, very friendly, breakfast was perfectly good. Room was huge with a four poster which was not expected. Grounds were a bit run down but location was quiet and in the countryside, easy to access the Lake District 'proper' as well as the coast at Whitehaven / St Bees.
The property was with a short drive to the even we were attending for the weekend
The house was clean and the kitchen well equipped with new appliances
The house was private and in a quiet area.
The host was quick to respond to any questions we had
Well equipped cottage with everything you may need and more. Location was great for us, set in a quiet neighbourhood with free parking outside cottage. Hassle free check-in in and check-out.
Kay was so helpful. This was a surprise quiet break for my fiancée after we had got engaged at xmas, it was decorated for us and we even were gifted a bottle of bubbly. Close to beach for dogs and Whitehaven for the pubs in Harbour
Excellent service . We will be back soon.
The hotel is in a lovely old building with nice grounds and surroundings. Cleator is a great location if like us, you’re just starting the Coast to Coast and have arrived on a later train at St. Bees. Everything was comfortable without being terribly exciting. Breakfast, salmon for dinner the previous evening - all fine.
