Castle View Guesthouse, hotel in Chester-le-Street

Situated in Durham, Castle View Guesthouse features 4-star accommodation with private terraces. It is located 25 km from Stadium of Light and provides a housekeeping service.

Lovely B&B, beautifully decorated, good-sized rooms with en-suite. The breakfast was great (although served from 8 am onward), and the staff friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel, so the rooms are not cleaned during your stay (I stayed 4 nights). The location is great, within walking distance from the station and the city centre.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful estate. The host, Peter, was incredible—helpful, kind, and so friendly. He made a lovely breakfast, including freshly baked bread and delicious scones (you have to try the scones, they’re amazing!). Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable from start to finish. I would definitely book again. Thank you, Peter, for making our experience so wonderful!

Ravensworth Arms by Chef & Brewer Collection, hotel in Chester-le-Street

With panoramic views of beautiful countryside, the Ravensworth Arms Hotel is a charming pub with bright, traditional rooms.

We received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble to ensure that our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast and evening meals were of a high standard and there were little touches that showed that the room-servicing and provisions were well thought out. We would not hesitate to make a return visit.

Great location and loads of character. Well equipped rooms and very comfortable beds. Not great for people with poor mobility as public rooms were through courtyards and down corridors, but charming for those without mobility problems.

Beautiful castle with lots of history set in lovely grounds. The weather was superb too. Lovely dinner on Saturday evening in the restaurant. Service was very good. Drinks in the bar were expensive. Great location not far from Newcastle city centre. Lovely staff, polite, great customer service skills.
