Wardicott is a beautiful house and is tastefully decorated. Rod was very welcoming with a great local knowledge and took the time to share. A residents lounge was spacious, had everything guests could possibly want - plus an Honesty Bar, which was a fantastic extra! Our room was lovely - spotless, cosy and and everything and more to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was cooked to order, had so much choice and was more than ample to set you up for the day. We opted for an evening meal - 3 courses of homemade deliciousness from Rod’s wife Gloria - don’t have lunch if you choose the Dinner!

As others have already stated, Olive, the hostess for the property is an exceptionally pleasant and helpful lady. I thoroughly enjoyed my interactions with her, and she was very keen that I had everything I needed. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The room was very clean and comfortable, and quiet. Lovely selection of biscuits and sweets to go with the tea and coffee provided. Handy small fridge too, which was stocked with extra milk etc, so my coffee addiction was well catered for. Shower works exactly as it should, not always a given on travels. Wi-fi access was very good. Easy parking and ready access to the various parts of town I needed to get to. I booked this property on prior reviews and they were well earned. If I were booking a stay in Stornoway again then no doubt I'd sign up with Olive once more.

Warm, friendly and great breakfast. Comfy beds. Perfect. 10/10
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Fantastic cottage, the house was immaculate, well equipped and great location (sea view, not too far from town for supplies, quiet area). Really saved our birthday trip with a fantastic rental.
As a bonus, there was a cat that roamed the area that was very friendly that I was very happy to give a few scritches to on my walks.
Host made us very welcome, even provided some provisions on arrival, rooms very spacious, kitchen was well equipped and had a washing machine and dishwasher, felt like a well-equipped home with all needs thought of, even had a telescope for starwatching. Very quiet and had lovely outlook towards the water, can walk to beach in about 20 mins
The kitchen was well equipped and was able to use it for the meals that we ate there. it is a very spacious property and you do not have to share everything that you like to do if you have different tastes. The village store and post office were very friendly and it has the cheapest fuel on the island
Really excellent breakfasts -- well cooked and served. A very good start to the day
