The house was gorgeous, the setting was unbelievably beautiful, quiet and serene, right on the river and across from high cliffs. Beautiful pool but not heated. The location was beautifully remote in a small rural country village but only took 8 minutes to drive to the nearest town. The hosts Catrina and Mick were enthusiastically helpful, sincere, warm and made us feel right at home. They were lovely to chat with and helped us with our daily itineraries. The breakfasts were delicious with home made pastries and eggs, coffee excellent and the fruit cup tasted like real fresh fruit. If only all B and B hosts were like them. We would definitely return.

Frédéric & his wife are incredibly warm hosts at Les Hauts de Gageac in Dordogne. The property is absolutely stunning! Driving up to the stay is a bit tricky but not impossible. Our room was L’Intime. Spacious, beautiful, immaculately clean & well appointed. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The bathroom is well lit and a nice touch was the triple-style charge adapters on the nightstands. We woke well rested to the birds singing. Absolutely perfect breakfast in the beautiful old house (200+ years old) with original beams & fire place. We had the most flavorful seeded bread that we’ve ever had in Europe. Fresh croissants, homemade jams, cheese, granola, fresh fruit + yogurt, fantastic coffee. Our only disappointment was that we had a fast overnight stay! Gorgeous pool with valley views, a longer stay would truly be rejuvenating. Walking to town takes about 15 mins along a small road uphill & downhill with picturesque views of the river & town. Unbelievably perfect stay in La Roque-Gageac!

I absolutely loved this place! Maybe my favorite ever. After biking along the dordogne for 100 miles I was met by Nathalie and Laurent. They are absolutely super hosts. I believe my French took a step up after chatting with them for a while. Excellent recommendation for dinner. Somehow managed to arra,ge for hot air balloons to appear in the sky as we were chatting before dinner. Wonderful homemade breakfast. Room, and the rest of this beautiful house, was decorated in a very cool fashion. I would not only stay again, I'm make it a point to head to France soon JUST to be there!
