Excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast each morning was slightly different with so much effort and attention to the guests requests. The pool was open throughout the day and we were left alone to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. It was a lovely gesture that the children could take the baguettes and breads left over from breakfast as snacks.

The chamber d’hote is in a suburb about 2km from the old port of La Rochelle. The room is in a newly built annex looking onto the family garden. The bed is big and comfortable and the en suite bathroom is excellent with a lovely floor and an excellent shower.
The proprietress provides a lovely breakfast and you can use the eating area and utensils for your own food in the evening, if you wish - there is a very good mini supermarket about 200m away.
We caught a bus into the old town and this is very easy to do and cheap. We walked back along a very good footpath alongside the cycle track, and this was easy and a good bit of exercise for a couple of oldies.

This was a super property, probably worth more than a ten. Flo has really thought about how to meet her guests needs in every way, from the power points beside the bed and elsewhere, to additional hooks in the bathroom. A very comfortable bed with linen bed wear. Great shower and bathroom. Easy off street parking, secure property. A bonus was the full shared kitchen and communal living space for her guests. It was warm, dry and exceptionally well appointed. Communication with Flo was easy and timely. Location was good to get to La Rochelle, or local shops and restaurants 10 minutes away. This is the best place we’ve stayed in 5 months of travel this year.

The room with its own terrace was delightful. The outdoor area and pool were also very pleasant. Breakfast served on our terrace was a treat. Martine and her family were very welcoming and looked after us well.
