We really enjoyed our stay, the room was very comfortable (we had a free upgrade), the breakfasts were great and we really enjoyed the dinners Alex cooked both evenings for us.
We also appreciated Alex keeping the bar open later so we could sit and watch a Euro match!
Thoroughly recommended.

This is an absolutely lovely property and the price is right! The hosts met us outside on arrival and helped carry bags to our rooms. We then sat outside in the garden with our bottle of wine and enjoyed the scenery before venturing back into town, an easy 5 minute drive. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise and an elegant breakfast. Do not hesitate to book:)

Lovely country inn with exceptional hosts. The room was wonderful. Very roomy, really nicely decorated and furnished. And comfortable. Everything a person would want in a French Country Inn. I wished I could have spent more time there. And the price was very attractive too.

Room was lovely and had a nice feel to it. The owner who welcomed us was lovely.
The pool was great. The whole house and garden were just beautiful and was located right in the center of the little village.
Breakfast was served at the table in the courtyard and a huge effort was made on presentation.
There was plenty of hooks and storage in the room.

Le Portanel is conveniently situated within walking distance of the Town of Eymet and less than 1k from some excellent walking and cycling routes. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a private bath. The breakfast featured coffee/tea, warm croissants, a nice selection of fresh fruit, a selection of cereal/granola, and an option of eggs cooked to order. We had a Croque Madame, which was outstanding! The Portanel has a private, off street, parking area and they even allowed us to store our bikes in their garage! We really appreciated the time that Mark took to share his knowledge of the area.
Mark and Tom are wonderful hosts!

Perfect location to visit family who were holidaying in the area. Very quaint French small town hotel. Small but perfectly formed! Although we didn't eat in the restaurant the reviews looked good.
Old fashioned, comfortable, great location, on main square. Cosy little bar, great food. Friendly proprietor. Could not wish for better. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Right on the town square and set in a period building. The rooms are charming and the food in the ground floor restaurant was excellent and prepared by our lovely host Alex. He is an accomplished chef and the produce was super fresh. A great stay and a beautiful Bastide town.
Jennie and Ron warmly welcomed us and patiently informed us about the meticulous renovation of their property and the local area. The property has been restored and furnished and decorated in a truly beautiful style. Many chosen antiques have been added throughout to perfectly capture the character of the property. Our room was spacious with en-suite bathroom and first class amenities. An excellent breakfast was served on an outdoor balcony overlooking the local landscape.
beautifully furnished room, immaculately clean. Excellent charming host with expert knowledge of the area. made to feel at home. A lovely stay. Thoroughly recommend
Central location in village with parking very near. Fantastic room in old house with antique French furniture and modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast and a very hospitable host, who cooked us a wonderful 3 course dinner on our second night for a modest figure. We stayed 2 nights and only have positive comments to make over this accommodation.
