The fishing village of Howth has great walks, cycling, golfing and the best fresh seafood restaurants, a hidden treasure a short distance from the bustling city. A range of local activities are available in the area, including bird watching in nature sanctuaries, walking trails, beaches, farmers’ markets, golf and windsurfing, all in close proximity to major sport and entertainment venues. The nearest airport is Dublin Airport, 8 miles. Loved the wonderful hospitality of Begonia, the owner. Her warm and welcoming touches were fantastic. The breakfast was delicious each day. She also made us a breakfast to go on our last morning as we had to leave early. It was great to see the beautiful artwork. I will treasure the one I chose, depicting "Lucy's" room as it was adorable and hand painted by Begonia. We also loved the beautiful location, away from the city.

This place was awesome! if I could rate in above a 10, I most definitely would. This is a homestay and Roisin was extremely welcoming and responsive. The accommodation was beautifully appointed. There is food provided for breakfast in the AM, along with some other snacks, which was great in a make shift kitchenette. Where the bedroom was, required a slight adjustment (for reference I am 178cm/5"10), but was perfectly fine as I navigated it through a couple of days. The bed was comfortable and was wonderful to wake up with the sky lights above the bed. I can see why this place is booked all the time. Additionally, Roisin and her family have two cats, which was a great surprise, as I love cats. Just to reiterate, that cats aren't roaming around the house, in case if some folks have allergies. Lastly, the Malahide beach and the bus stop are just a four minute walk away! All in all, 15/10. Would highly recommend to all! Danke Roisin fur eine guten reisen!!! <3

The Marine Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the beach and has rooms with views over Dublin Bay. It offers Cucinos, an authentic Italian restaurant, an indoor pool, sauna, meeting and banquet facilities and free parking. There is free WiFi access in all areas. Breakfast was confusing because I stayed ten nights. I could see some work was needed, but I enjoyed breakfast. Location close to Howth but an accessible bus or train journey to Dublin centre and a short walk to train station and bus stops.
