The fishing village of Howth has great walks, cycling, golfing and the best fresh seafood restaurants, a hidden treasure a short distance from the bustling city. A range of local activities are available in the area, including bird watching in nature sanctuaries, walking trails, beaches, farmers’ markets, golf and windsurfing, all in close proximity to major sport and entertainment venues. The nearest airport is Dublin Airport, 8 miles. Loved the wonderful hospitality of Begonia, the owner. Her warm and welcoming touches were fantastic. The breakfast was delicious each day. She also made us a breakfast to go on our last morning as we had to leave early. It was great to see the beautiful artwork. I will treasure the one I chose, depicting "Lucy's" room as it was adorable and hand painted by Begonia. We also loved the beautiful location, away from the city.

Offering rooms with satellite TV, The Grand Hotel is set within the coastal town of Malahide. The property is amazing and rooms gorgeous in a fantastic location. You feel like a celebrity staying here- it's just so cool! The town is cute to walk around and the Katmandu Nepalese restaurant a block away has wonderful food. We loved eating breakfast in the large sunny room with a view of the harbor. The cost of staying here was the same or lower than boring chain hotels near Dublin airport. This was a perfect way to end our vacation. We plan to make a return trip in the future to stay and see the castle nearby.
