My room was huge, clean and had a really, really comfortable bed as well as a balcony with a lake view. There was tea, coffee and bottled water as well as a few snack one could purchased. The highlight of my stay here were definitely the hosts, though. Maya and her husband are the loveliest, most helpful people and I could not thank them enough for all the care they have provided me with during my time with them.

If you like quiet, historical, family like place, highly recommended! They also rent scooter, you can enjoy samosir freely !For sure I will come back with more time, Thanks Tiolina & Incu!

Mario Lakeside Apartments is a recently renovated apartment in Tuk Tuk, where guests can make the most of its free bikes and garden. We felt in love with lake Toba and we were lucky to enjoy it even more at this place. If you are looking for a private, calm, chill place - yes this is it! The apartment is perfectly located in a green, hidden area in front of the lake. Every morning and evening we enjoyed beautiful views and were swimming in the lake just few steps from the apartment. Being for two months in Indonesia it was a first place with such a big space and different shells, tables, clothes hangers, tables etc The hot shower was very good. The kitchen is well equipped, there is a fridge and you can easily cook your own meals. The vegetarian/vegan restaurant that Ali has was very good too. We enjoyed delicious guacamole with sourdough bread and avocado juice. There is a big avocado tree in the garden according to one local woman Ali’s avocados are best on the island :) Ali is friendly and very helpful. We extended our stay twice :) Would love to come back !

Once you open the door of your room, you’re greeted by an impressive view of Lake Toba. It appears to be a new hotel, so the room and furnishings were new and clean. Location was fantastic as well. The hotel is right next to the water, so the ferry from Parapat can drop you off right at the hotel pier and pick you up from the same place. There are great restaurants nearby. I strongly recommend Coffee 2 Go across the street for breakfast and coffee, and Rosalie’s Beer Garden and Restaurant a 5-min walk away for lunch and dinner. Staff is friendly and helpful, though not all of them speak English.
