Stunning location! Wonderful staff! This ranks as one of my favourite hotels ever! Overlooking the bay where whales blow and breech before your very eyes. We were privileged to have stayed in room 226 which has a small balcony with seats! We spent several pleasurable hours watching south right whales frolicking in the bay! Amazing, emotional, spectacular - I run out of superlatives. Wonderfully comfortable hotel with kind, attentive staff and so thoughtful when you’ve got a celebration to share. Huge ‘shout out’ to Bianca Goosen, one of the senior staff members who made sure our stay was memorable! And it so was! Thank you!

The property was very spacious and had a lovely outlook onto the sea. Kitchen was well equipped. It was in a very quiet area. Was not far to walk to the start of the cliff path which was a beautiful walk into town.
The pretty Abalone Guest Lodge is a 4-star property situated at Sievers Point, directly on the cliffs overlooking Hermanus Bay, an ideal spot for whale-watching.

Spectacular. There is no other word. We travel a lot, but once in a while, an accommodation manages to exceed all expectations. This one did. The lovely furnished room, the bed with view of the ocean, and even of whales. The very, very decadent breakfast. The little personal touches like a small toiletry bag. The staff, the bar.. It feels like home away from home, but a thousand times more luxurious. A true treat!
There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
We had an incredible stay at this beautiful beachfront guesthouse! The location was stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and direct access to the beach. The rooms were cozy and clean, and our hostess, Retha, was friendly and welcoming. We loved waking up to the sound of the waves and lounging on the patio. I highly recommend this little slice of paradise!
The location is absolutely breathtaking, as we were on the beachfront. The rooms are big and cosy and you can hear the sound of the waves crashing while laying cosy in bed. There was everything you needed for a home away from home. My favourite part was being able to watch the kids explore the rock pools while watching from our window.
The house is just like pictures, right on the beach with spectacular views of the sunrise and sunset. We were able to see whales whilst sitting inside the house. The house itself is very comfortable and neat and the owners gave clear instructions on how to access the property.
The cottage is right on the beachfront / rocks with incredible views. The gallery photos were exactly what we got upon arrival. Our host Irene was amazing and ensured everything was perfect. Could not have asked for more. We cannot wait to go back for another visit.
We stayed for the third time at Hermanus Beachfront Lodge. Outstanding location, just on the beach, can enjoy fantastic sea view and sunsets from the balcony in the room. It is a quite part of Hermanus, but lots of restaurants/shops are just 5-10 min drive away.
Rooms are specious and comfortable. Breakfast delicious. Staff is very professional and friendly. Our special thanks to Nomsa for all her efforts to make our stay memorable and so enjoyable. She is a real asset for the business.
We were welcomed with open arms, extremely good location a stones throw from two cliff walks. One towards grotto beach with golden sands, the other towards a beautiful seaside town with amazing food, id recommend ocean basket hermanus.
Clean and comfortable facilities, breakfast had a wide variety and was delicious.
We will be back when we are next in area, enough to spend a week there
