We were upgraded to a full oceanfront view which was a very nice surprise. The location couldn't be any better, it is directly on the sea and you have an absolutely beautiful view to wake up to in the morning with the balcony to walk into and get an idea of the weather of the day.
There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
The room was incredible, as ours faced out to the ocean. They have a balcony where we could comfortably and relaxingly watch surfers and the vibrant fish swimming right next to the property. They provided snorkels and beach towels. No A/C in the unit, but there was a ceiling fan, and they also provided a pedestal fan. Not having A/C wasn't an issue for us at all, as we slept with the sliding doors (there were screen doors as well) open, and it was awesome getting the ocean breeze and listening the waves at night.
This apartment is very well appointed with an excellent kitchen, ample appliances and cookware, a very comfortable bed and plenty of beach accessories (however, we didn't use them). When we were there, everyone in the complex respected quiet times and we were never disturbed by other tenants. It was wonderful having a washer/drier in our unit. The lanai is right on the ocean and the view is just what you hope for in Kialua-Kona. When conditions were right, you can watch for the green flash at sunset!
One of the best beach hotel in Big Island in the heart of Kona. The beach is small but clean and is connected to the hotel, almost unique experience in the USA. There is a 1 mile long beach walk with lot of good restaurants. The excellent submarine trip goes directly from the hotel.
Extra high ceilings, large balcony, nice ocean view, large bathroom, everything is clean and recently renovated. There was beach gear included, such as an umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, snorkelling gear, cooler. Good central location, but we mostly drove north about 30-40 min for the best beaches.
Absolutely spectacular location so close to the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean which could be heard at all times. Beautiful condo and we loved sitting on the lanai. The pool area of the Surf and Raquet club was very nice and the whole complex was very peaceful. There was amazing snorkelling at the beach approx 1/2 mile away.

A great location for a stay in Kona as it was 5 minutes walk to an excellent beach for surfing and snorkeling. Nice bright rooms with fans to cool then. Kitchen had all the equipment for cooking and serving meals. Nice balcony with sea and sunset views. Easy parking on site for our large vehicle.
It was a very nice and comfortable stay at the Big Island Retreat! We had everything we need in our Seaside room.
We really enjoyed the quiet area and that we heard the ocean from the bed! The view when we woke up in the morning was really beautiful!

The Condo is really nice. on the 3 rd floor with nice views of the ocean as well as the sunsets. Just a short walk to the beach. Nice big King bed in the main room with a bathroom on suite.

Kitchen all good. Really nice verandah. Large lounge with plenty of space. Nice pool area with BBQ. Would certainly visit again.
