Beautiful location, attentive staff, recommend getting ocean view villa, have a private pool and plunge pool. The local wildelife bush baby's or monkeys can be a slight annoyance if choosing to have meals at villa, just means cannot leave food unattended. If you have any anxiety about insects/ crawlies - the lizards and occasional spider may frighten you. But otherwise their presence isnt a concern. The villa themselves are beautiful every day the staff leave a little sweet treat after cleaning your room.

Staff members Thomas and khadijah took really good care of us, and Ali said. The staff deserve medals for their effort and hard work. Before even asking for anything that we needed it was in front of us. I do not have words to describe how amazing every single staff member were at the resort, always happy to help with a big massive smile on their faces.

Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
I have to say we haven't been hosted here. As we arrived they told us to go to another hotel they partner up with, called Sun Sea Bar Beach Hotel. So my review is about that and cannot compare or say if it was an upgrade or not. Either way I don't think it's a good practice for the host to do so and to not inform beforehand.
The new place was good tbh. Private beach view, pool, AC and overall clean.
The hotel has a perfect location in Kendwa Beach, the room was always cleaned and the breakfast was very good.

I would definitely recommend Sunset Kendwa Beach hotel, because its on the best location and good price.
The accommodation is right on the beach, perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. The staff were also kind enough to provide us with takeaway items for breakfast as we had an early start on the day of our departure.

loads of activities like boat trips, hair braiding, spa treatments, and all the water sports. not to mention the incredible sunset.
We got the bungalow, right next to the beach with a plunge pool, and enjoyed it throughly. If we come back to zanzibar, will definitely book that kind of room again.
The location was perfect. Beautiful views of the ocean and being right on the beach was a winner. Staff did best to rectify any problems. Food was not bad.
We loved the location of this hotel! Kendwa beach is very nearby and it's easy to walk there. La Fontana has a great deal with Kendwa Rocks hotel for the guests to use their sunbeds on the beach. And the beach is amazing!! Far better than Nungwi and maybe the best beach in whole Zanzibar.
Futhermore the staff in La Fontana was very friendly and helpful. We also loved our room, which was spaceous, clean and had ocean view. We stayed here one week, but could have stayed longer!
the room was very spacious and comfortable, with a nice balcony and partial view of the beach. The position is good, right on the beach and not too busy. The staff was nice and flexible. Loved that they do happy hour and you can enjoy your drink watching the sunset on the loungers.
My friend and I stayed just two nights at Lazy Beach Hotel right before we flew home after 3 weeks all around Tanzania. The hotel is situated right on the beach and everything was very clean and nice. Beds were super comfortable.
We had an amazing stay at Lazy Beach hotel, directly at the beach (front row). Great value for money: very friendly staff and owner, reception lady speaks English and French, breakfast is served on the rooth top terrasse with a beautiful ocean view. Delicious breakfast (fresh fruits, fresh juice, egg/omlett etc, bread, ect). Barbeque beach restaurant next door. Evening entertainment (artists) on the beach. Other beach hotels and reataurants in walking distance. Very good water pressure.
